Charlotte Ann Black Foster, 81, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Tennova Residential Hospice in Knoxville. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William T. "Bill" Foster; parents, A.B. and Iva West Black; sister, Dorothy Perkins.
She was known as "Sister" to all of her cousins. A devoted wife and mother, she and Bill enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. Many years were spent working at Rich's, Regas and Sevier County Schools, as well as owning and operating 2 different hotels in the '60's and early '70's while raising a family. She was a devoted caregiver, always putting the needs of loved ones above her own thus leaving a legacy of care giving when the time came for her to need care. She was a member of Lyons Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by children: Mitzi Foster Soward and husband, Joe, of Kodak; Millard Thomas "Tom" Foster and wife, Sallie, of Colorado Springs; grandchildren: Wesley Soward, Julie Soward Winter and husband Joe, Seth Foster, Emily Foster; great-grandchild: Eliza Jewell Winter; several nieces and nephews.
