CLABOUGH , EVELYN FRANCES age 90, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2009, at St. Mary's Residential Hospice following a lengthy battle with cancer. Born January 3, 1919, in Knox County to Mitchell and Vinia Clabough , she graduated from the Mossop School for Girls in Harriman, TN . Preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Sheldon Clabough , Margaret Castleberry, Juanita Chadwell, Mabel Clabough , and Tom Clabough , she is survived by sisters, Vernie Upchurch, Etta Mae May and Elsie Sorey. Her extended family includes generations of devoted nieces and nephews and a host of treasured friends. A former member of the St. James United Methodist Church and current member of Trinity United Methodist Church, she was supportive of the ministry and all of its programs. Church activities included Dorcas Circle, Young In Heart, the United Methodist Women, and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Her professional career included positions at Reeder Chevrolet and Oak Ridge National Laboratories. Evelyn began a 37-year career with Powell Telephone Company in 1952. She was promoted to the position of office manager, where she made invaluable contributions to the growth and strength of the company. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 5 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church, followed by a celebration of Evelyn 's life at 7 pm. Reverend Don Thomas will officiate. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 am on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Weaver Funeral Home on Western Avenue to proceed to Bell's Campground Cemetery for an 11 am graveside service.
