JULIAN , EARL C. - age 75 of South Knox County, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2002 at his home. Lifelong member of New Hopewell Baptist Church where he served as Trustee. He was a retired painter contractor. Earl was on the original Board of the Doyle High Boosters Club and for several years was active in the Republican Party serving as member and Chairman of the New Hopewell precinct. He was a former member of the Seymour Optimist Club. A founding member of the Board of Commissioners of the Knox County Housing Authority. Earl served as chairman for the past 19 years and was on the Board for more than 30 years. He was a World War II Navy veteran. In addition to his love of politics, Earl loved coaching men's and women's softball teams and Little League baseball teams. He was preceded in death by son, Barry Julian ; father and mother, Floyd and Ella Julian ; and brother, Carroll Julian . He is survived by wife of 50 years, Doris Tucker Julian ; daughter, Janis Julian ; sons and daughters in law, Timothy and Teresa Julian , Jerry and Ashley Julian ; granddaughters, Haley, Shelby and Chesney Julian ; brothers and sisters in law, L.D. and Edith Julian , Carmen and Barbara Julian , Tommy and Pat Julian , Bobby and Bettye Julian , Darrell and Peggye Julian ; sisters and brothers in law, JoElla and Thurston Cooke, Pauline and Stan Babb, Billie and Wayne James; sister in law, Cindy Julian ; step mother, Frances Julian ; and several nieces, nephews and aunts. Funeral service 2 p.m. Sunday New Hopewell Baptist Church, with Rev. Corey Golden and Rev. Dean Buchanan officiating. Pallbearers will be: Jerry Brogdon, Jim Davenport, Steve Grubb, David Mikels, Charles A. Norton, Bo Pierce, Jerry Price, and H.A. (Tony) Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl 's Sunday school class. Interment church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Hwy. www.berryfuneralhome.com
