Isabell was a former member of the Gospel Light Baptist Church and later joined the Parton’s Church of God. Granny, as she was affectionately known, was a grandmother to many people, however to her grandchildren she was also a mother.
Waiting for Isabell to join them is her husband, Amos Decator Bohanan; children, Louise Branch, Laura Ogle, Frank Bohanan; parents, Ben and Mary Bales Gibson; an infant brother; sisters, Cora, Gracie, and Tisha.
Leaving behind to mourn her passing, but celebrating the life she has lived, is her son, A.C. Bohanan and wife Brenda; grandchildren, Troy Branch, Beatrice Garner, Eugene Branch, J.B. Branch, Dennis Branch, Shirley Rayfield, Loyie Branch, Teresa Johnson, Ken Carr, Billy Carr, Ruby Shular, Shirlene Parton, Roy Baxter, Teddy Ogle, Patsy Rayfield, Linda Tipton, Junior Bohanan, Sandra Campbell, Marybell Teaster, James Bohanan and Tammy Bohanan; 72 great and great-great grandchildren. Besides the immediate family, Granny will leave a void in many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whose lives she has touched.
Service will be 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2004 at Rawlings Funeral Chapel with Rev. King and Rev. Harold Parton. Interment will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 4 at Middle Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, December 3 at Rawlings Funeral Home.
