Lennis B. Williams, age 82 of Sevierville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. She was a loving Christian mother and grandmother. She was a 1947 graduate of Karns High School and a member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville, which she dearly loved. Lennis was previously employed for many years at The Christmas Place, where she made many special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald P. “Chuck” Williams.
Survivors include her sons, Barry Williams and wife Terry of Lenoir City, Phil Williams and wife Kay of Jefferson City; daughters, Rhonda Carpenter and husband Terry of Knoxville, Becky Barnes and husband Bob of Sevierville. She is also survived by grandchildren, Lindsay Williams of Nashville, Rachael Williams of Jefferson City, Bradley Carpenter and wife Melissa of California, Blair Carpenter of Knoxville, Katie Barnes, Carly Barnes, John Barnes and Layla Barnes, all of Sevierville; great-granddaughter, Paisley Alyse Carpenter of California.
The family would like to thank special friends Rev. Scott Andrews, Rev. Jerry Hyder and the entire First Baptist Church family and all who were so good to our mother; also a special thanks to her caregivers, Amedisys Hospice, Dr. Ivan Cooper and staff, and Dr. Malcolm Foster and staff.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to First Baptist Church, 317 Parkway, Sevierville, TN, 37862 or to Amedisys Hospice, 1420 Dutch Valley Road, Suite C, Knoxville, TN 37918.
The family will receive friends 5-6:45 PM Friday with funeral service to follow at 7 PM at First Baptist Church, Sevierville with Rev. Dan Spencer, Rev. Randy Davis and Rev. Scott Andrews officiating. A special eulogy will be given by Mr. Charles Ownby. Family and friends will meet 11 AM Saturday in Asbury Cemetery, Knox County for interment with Rev.
