Hugh Thomas Ownby, age 87 of Maryville passed away Thursday, December 30, 2004 at Asbury Place. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Alcoa. He retired from ALCOA after 37 years of service and was a member of the ALCOA 25 Year Club. As a WW II veteran he served in the U.S. Army-Air Corps in the South Pacific for four years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Maude Ownby of Boyd’s Creek.

Daughter: Joyce Ownby Wallace of Maryville
Daughter and son-in-law: Carole and Quentis Byerley of Tellico Village

Hugh will be remembered for his love and sense of humor, and for the laughter he brought to all those around him.
The family gives thanks to Asbury Place staff for their loving care.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tn. 38105 in honor of Mr. Ownby’s great grandson, Ryan Breedlove.
Funeral service 2PM Sunday in Atchley’s Seymour Chapel. Interment will follow in Boyd’s Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Sunday at Atchley’s Seymour Chapel, 122 Peacock Court, Seymour, Tn. 577-2807
