Bert Farmer heard the golden bells ringing as Jesus called him on July 31, 2011. Surrounded by his loving family he entered his heavenly home. Bert was a Christian and member of North Acres Baptist Church. He was a kind and honorable man who loved the Lord and had a great passion for his family. After 48 1/2 years, Bert retired as a livestock buyer for Lay Packing Company, and was well respected for his Livestock knowledge in East Tennessee. He was also a Knox County Deputy and Detective for many years. He was an avid U.T. sports fan. He loved gospel singing and had an amazing life and he said, “I lived it to the fullest.” Preceding him in his passing were his parents, Alec and Oma Swaggerty Farmer and brother, Jack Farmer.
