Bobby Dale Cox, 75, of Sevierville passed away Monday, March 20, 2017. Bobby was born on December 7th, 1941 in Flint, MI at home. He graduated from Flint Central High School in 1959. That same year, Bobby enlisted in the U. S. Army. Upon returning home, Bobby began a career with General Motors, retiring after 28 years. After retiring, Bobby and his wife Mary ... affectionately known to him as "Lou", moved to East Tennessee in the mountains that he loved so much. Bobby then began a new career as a juvenile correctional officer. He was soon promoted to supervisor, investigator; and then ended his career as a Bailiff with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department. Bobby had many hobbies and interests. He loved fishing, hunting, golf, horses, motorcycling, and spending time with his family. Bobby's greatest interests were sharing his faith and talking about his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Bobby was active in church his entire life. He spent 28 years as a member a Leadvale Baptist Church in White Pine, Tn. He served as Sunday school teacher for Senior Adult class, and also as the Youth Director for many years; leading so many to the Lord and guiding so many young people to an everlasting life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Birdie Cox.
He is survived by his wife, Mary "Lou" Cox; sons, Michael and Sabrina (Flint, MI), Mark Cox (Mitchell, IN), Joe and Gwen Brown (Sevierville); daughter, Vickie and Bruce Borkovich (Big Rapids, MI). Grandchildren, Amy (Jerry) Morton, Shelby (Nat) Allsup, Arielle Borkovich (Matt), Bryson Hicks (Jessica); and Whitney Hicks; one great-granddaughter, Cora Lucille Marie Morton; brother, Jerry (Evelyn) Cox (Davison, MI); and nephew, Tim (Becky) Cox (Lakeland, FL); and niece, Terry (Tim) Bondy (Brownstown, MI).
Bobby touched the lives of so many; he was a loving Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Brother.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Wednesday, March 22nd at Leadvale Missionary Baptist Church, 874 Leadvale Church Rd., White Pine, Tennessee 37890, with the funeral service to follow at 7 PM with Dr. Dale Ellenburg and Pastor Charlie Harkleroad officiating. The graveside service and interment will be held 11 AM Thursday in White Pine Cemetery.
