Wayne Whaley, 88, of Knoxville, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005, at his home. He was born in Sevierville. He was a member of Hutson Grove Church of God.He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Nancy Whaley; brother, Reese Whaley; sisters, Zora Stanton Catlett and Ruth Johnson; infant son Robert Daniel Whaley; and daughter, Johnnie Ruth Whaley Davis.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Eula McFalls Whaley of Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Carl Bennett; granddaughters and spouses, Shelia and Mike Cline, Becky and James Garrison, Karen and Rusty Riffey; grandson, Jason Bennett, and grandson and spouse, Daniel and Chrystan Bennett; seven great-grandchildren; two step-grandsons; sister and brother-in-law, Belle and Gil Chandler; special friends and many special sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.

WHALEY, WAYNE - age 88 of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2005 at home. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was born in Sevierville, retiree fro Pet Dairy and drove a Knox County School bus for seventeen years. Mr. Whatley was a long time member of Hutson Grove Church of God. He enjoyed spending his time woodworking and gardening. Preceded in death by parents, Dan and Nancy Whaley, brother, Reese Whaley, sisters, Zora Stanton Catlett and Ruth Johnson, infant son, Robert Daniel Whaley and daughter, Johnnie Ruth Whaley Davis. Survivors: devoted wife of 66 years, Eula McFalls Whaley of Knoxville; daughter and son in law Peggy and Carl Bennett; granddaughters and spouses, Sheila and Mike Cline, Becky and James Garrison, Karen and Rusty Riffey; grandson, Jason Bennett and grandson and spouse, Daniel and Chrystan Bennett; great grandchildren, Brittany and Breanna Garrison, Aaron and Adam Reed, Kaitlyn and Kacey Riffey, and Kaleb Bennett; step grandsons, Brandon and Blake Cline; sister and brother in law, Belle and Gill Chandler; special friends, Jesse and Stella Ogle; and many special sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces nephews and friends. Special thanks to Caris Healthcare, Knox County Office on Aging and Retired Officers at Senior Citizens Awareness Network. The family will receive friends Friday August 5, 2005 from 6-8 p.m. with service to follow at Highland West Chapel with the Rev. George Hughes and Rev. Billy McCool officiating.
