Martha Faye Roop, age 69 of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2011. Member of The Church at Sterchi Hills. Preceded in death by parents, Wiley Moore and Velvie Hurst Moore; sister, Dorothy Buckner and children, Karan Faye and Timothy Paul Roop. Devoted wife of 49 years to husband, David Roop; loving mother to daughters, Jeanie and Kristy Roop; two beloved pets, Precious and Honey; brother, Wylie (Buck) Moore, Jr. and wife Dana; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and cousins. Family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with Rev. Randy Singleton and Rev. William A. Roop officiating with funeral service to follow. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am Thursday at Edgewood Cemetery for an interment service at 11:00 am. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny, Harold, Eddie and Horace Hundley, Stan Buckner, Mike Tindell, Rev. Ralph McGhee and Tyler Hayes. She served the Lord here and trusted Jesus for Heaven.
