WEST COLUMBIA - Funeral service for Mae Angel Parks , 84, will be held at noon Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Grace Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor David Goforth, Dr. David Smith and Dr. Clayton Shumpert. Interment will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be the Grace Senior Saints. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. this Tuesday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 416 Denham Avenue, West Columbia, SC 29169.
Mrs. Parks , wife of Harvey Parks , died Sunday, April 26, 2009. Born in Marshall, NC, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Bessie Ogle . She was retired from Tapps Department Store; and enjoyed camping, traveling and fishing.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Harvey Parks of West Columbia; daughter, Cynthia Baker (Ronnie) of Marshall, NC; sons, Michael Angel (Brenda) of Pelion and Gary Angel (Terri) of Lexington; special companion, Stephanie Kub and several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Mrs. Parks was preceded in death by daughters, Hilda Morris and Patricia Sher.
