Carl W. Whaley, age 97 of Pigeon Forge, passed away Friday, March 14, 2008. He was a member of the Greenbrier Community of the Great Smoky Mountains and First Baptist Church of Pigeon Forge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Whaley, son, Ronnie Joe Whaley, brother Minus Whaley, sisters Juanita Ownby and Eula Proffitt.

Funeral service 7 PM Monday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Brooks, Rev. Curtis Wells, and Rev. Larry Costner officiating. Interment 12 PM Tuesday in Pigeon Forge Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chad Loveday, Phil Whaley, Larry Davis, Gary Whaley, Jim Trotter, Paul Crain, and Randy Riggins. Honorary pallbearers will be Ted Myers, Paul Clabo, Larry Sims, Ray Ball, and the Goodwill Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Monday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
