Phoebe Lorene Whaley Huskey, age 100, of Townsend, is now with her Heavenly Father. She was blessed with a rich and full life. She was born September 21, 1902 in Greenbrier, TN (which is now within the boundary of the Great Smoky Mtns. National Park). She was the original owner of Dock’s Motel in Townsend, established in 1935. Her daughter later operated the motel, which is now owned and operated by her granddaughter. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Townsend. She loved people and will be missed and remembered by her family. Those who knew her quickly realized she had a love for life. It was in her smile, her laughter and her song “ Daylight-Sun”. She loved the Lord. Prayer kept her strong and courageous through the many hardships of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Huskey, daughter, Gene Huskey, parents, W.M. and Sallie Whaley, sisters, Minnie Lillie, Gertrude, and Luceil, brothers, Dan, Rex, Clay and Haulk.

Funeral service 7 PM Monday in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with the Rev. Guinn Green and Rev. Rick Hollifield officiating. Interment and graveside service 11 AM Tuesday in Pigeon Forge Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Tim Stinnett officiating. The family will receive friends 6-7 PM Monday at Atchley Funeral Home Sevierville.
