Reba Josephine Wilkerson, of Madisonville, departed her earthly home for her heavenly home, 9:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2014. Born Jan. 23, 1939, in Madisonville. A faithful member of Honey Rock Victorious Church, Knoxville, where she served in many capacities, she particularly loved assisting in the Compassion Dinners. Known by all as "Granny Jo," whom always made everyone feel welcomed. Devoted her life to God and her family. Survivors: daughter, Lisa Elaine Wolfe; sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and D. Dee Upton, Steve and Angel Scott; grandchildren and spouse, Ricky (Tiki), Jr. and Katina Upton, Tee Simpson, Von Simpson, Kortney Scott, Jordan Scott; great-grandchildren, Ashur Upton and Destiny Upton; sisters and brother-in-law, Beverly Dunn, Brenda and Thomas Hardy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Pastor David and Katherine Upton, Kenneth Upton, Apostle Jerry and Janice Upton; "adopted daughter", Chief Justice Sharon Lee; special friends, Mary Nell Sudderth and Warnell Davis; a host of other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by husband, Houston Martin Wilkerson, Sr.; son, Harrison Martin (Marty) Wilkerson, Jr.; parents, Gustine and Nellie Upton; siblings, Elizabeth Upton, William, Charles and Eddie Upton; brother-in-law, James Dunn. Going home celebration 2 p.m. Wednesday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Apostle Jerry Upton and Pastor David Upton officiating. Interment Park City Cemetery. Rice Chapel will provide dinner for the family after the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to support the Compassion Dinners, Honey Rock Victorious Church, 4004 Holston Dr., Knoxville, TN 37914. Family will receive friends 12:30-2 p.m. Wednesday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
