Beulah Sparks Aller, age 103, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2010 at Charleston Health Care Center in Danville, Kentucky. She was born on January 17, 1907 in the Binfield Community of Blount County to the late George Sparks and Rachel White Sparks. Beulah was the oldest living descendent of the late Nathan and Jane Sparks (her grandparents) of Cades Cove. She graduated from Friendsville High School. She lived most of her adult life in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She returned to Maryville July 2001 to live at Morning View Village where she was one of their first residents. During her five years at Morning View she celebrated her 100th birthday. While in Maryville she attended Broadway United Methodist Church. Shortly after her 100th birthday she moved to Danville, Kentucky to be near her son, Ron Aller and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Rachel Sparks, brothers, Howard and Roy Sparks, sisters, Mary Jane, Arvie, Gertie, Ella Simerly, and Tim Van Metre, and husband Oscar Aller; nieces, Jan Coletto and Bobbie Glassburn; nephew, Roy Sparks, Jr.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-laws, Ron and Barbara Aller, Larry and Ellen Aller; grandchildren and spouses, Jim and Faith Aller, Stephen and Lisa Aller, Cindy and Leonard Dunn, John and Rose Aller, Bonnita Aller and Yvonne Aller; great grandchildren, Duncan Coombs, Elena Aller, Zachery Aller, Luke Aller, and Mason Aller; nieces and husbands, Jan Van Metre Cooper and Richard Cooper, Lynn Goldman Harris and John Harris, and Juanita Simerly Roney; nephew and wife, Mickey Van Metre and Cheryl Van Metre; and special friend, Bebe Gillooly.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening 6 to 8 PM at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be at 2 PM Tuesday graveside in Grandview Cemetery, Bebe Gillooly officiating. In lieu of flowers, make a donation to the grounds beautification of Charleston Health Care Center, P. O. Box 426, Danville, Ky 40423 or Eagle Rock Retreat, P.O. Box 5405, Maryville, TN 37802.
