SMITH , PEGGY JENKINS - of Knoxville, born Aug. 19., 1925, passed away Sept. 18, 2000 at Hillcrest West Nursing Home. Member of Ball Road Baptist Church. She was an employee of Oak Ridge Methodist Medical Center for 20 years. Preceded in death by husband, Calford Smith ; son, Archie Smith ; parents, George & Mollie Jenkins; brothers, Tommy & Jack Jenkins. Survived by son, Dale Smith ; daughters & sons in law, Linda & Jack Gardner & Brenda & James Moore all of Knoxville; grandchildren, Tommy Gardnerof Knoxville, Teresa Saylor of Jefferson City, Missy Roe & Kenny Smith of Mich., Amanda Webb, Tammy, Kevin & Tina Moore all of Knoxville; 9 great grandchildren, brothers & sisters in law, Jim Jenkins, Charles & Anne Jenkins & Kenneth & Elizabeth Jenkinsall of Knoxville; sisters & brother in law, Evelyn Brooks of Knoxville, Betty & Mayford Watson of Clinton, and Mary Underwood of Knoxville; sisters in law, Pat & Joyce Jenkins both of Knoxville. The family greatly appreciates the staff of Hillcrest West. Family & friends will meet at 12:45 p.m. Fri. at Riverview Bapt. Church Cemetery for a 1 p.m. graveside service.
