Clabough, Bertha Alice Ward, age 88, of South Knoxville, departed this life Monday, October 15, 2007, surrounded by her loving family, to meet her previously departed family. Mamaw was truly loved by her church family and everyone that knew her. She is preceded in death by parents, Mary Elizabeth and Terrell Ward; husband, Elijah; children, Betty Haun, Evelyn England, Faye Rogers, Peggy Breeden, Brenda Henderson, Jerry, Elijah Jr., and Steve Clabough; grandchildren, Jerry Ray Clabough and April Bowlin.
Survivors
She leaves to cherish her memory: sons, Raymond (Martha) Clabough, Rev. Tommy (Kathy) Clabough; daughters, Shirley (Fred) Longmire, and Sally (Ray) Henderson; brother, Bill Ward; 36 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; special granddaughters, Rebecca Williams, Annette Haun, and special granddaughter and caregiver, Cindy Brown; special ladies from the Church that brought her meals, Faye Turner, Brenda Simpson, Susan Johnson and Diane Simpson.
Service
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 PM at E. Avenue House of Prayer, with Rev. Tommy Clabough officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Mike Givens, Willard Haun, Scott England, Steve Clabough, Jonathan Clabough, and James Clabough Jr. The family would like to express their appreciation for the quality care Mrs. Clabough received from UT Hospice, with special consideration to Debra and Diane. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Wednesday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
