McCLANAHAN, SAMUEL MARCUS (S.M), JR. - of Maryville passed away Wednesday at 11:30 PM at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. He served in World War II and retired from KUB after 32 years of service. He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Maryville. Preceded in death by: parents, Samuel and Nola McClanahan sister, Troy McNeilly. He is loved and dearly missed by his wife of 58 years, Ann son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Nancy McClanahan of Atlanta, GA daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Steve Monroe of Maryville son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Jan McClanahan of Nashville, TN Six grandchildren five great-grandchildren Brothers, Henderson McClanahan and Ivan H. McClanahan both of Maryville several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be at 7:30 PM, Friday, West Chapel, Smith Mortuary, Maryville with Rev. Raymond Burnett and Rev. Henry Chiles officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 15, 2003 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the entombment. Honorary Pallbearers are Chris McClanahan , Dallas Monroe, Brad McClanahan , Wallace Sellars, Clifford Long, Hoyt Talbott, Kevin Moore, and Ed Hart. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Gideons of Blount County, P.O. Box 191, Alcoa, TN 37701 or Mt. Lebanon Church Building Fund, 3508 Wildwood Road, Maryville, TN 37804. Family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 PM, Friday, March 14, 2003, West Chapel, Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 865-983-1000, www.smithmortuary.com.
