ALLEN J. BARNES, 71, of Bridgeton, died Tuesday at the Veterans Hospital in Elsmere, Del.
Mr. Barnes worked at Seabrook Farms before retiring.
He attended the Bridgeton Assembly of God Church.
Mr. Barnes served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was the recipient of the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars.
Born in Tennessee, Mr. Barnes was an area resident most of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; three daughters, Pam Ford and Phyllis DeVault of Upper Deerfield Township and Jocelyn Ivey of Newport, Tenn.; a son, Allen Jr. at home; and six grandchildren.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bridgeton Assembly of God Church, 424 Indian Ave., Bridgeton.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton.
Burial will be in Olivet Cemetery, Pittsgrove Township.
