WEST, MATTIE IRENE DUNAWAY - age 74, of Karns Community, Knoxville, Tenn., went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, August 17, 2003, at 10:40 a.m. Member of Solway Church of God. She was preceded in death by husband, Joseph West son, Wayne grandson, Aron parents, Robert and Edith Dunaway brothers, W. L. and Robert E. Dunaway brother-in-law, Hoyt Whited. Survived by daughter, Ethel Ault and husband Kim sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Patricia of Winston Salem, N.C., Terry and Judy of Lenoir City, Frank and Georgia, Kenny and Emmadene, Timothy and Trula son, Howard, all of Knoxville 14 grandchildren nine great-grandchildren brother and sister-in-law, James and Barbara Dunaway. Very special sister and caretaker, Jeanette Dunaway sister, Naomi Whited sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Proctor Keck , Ella Mae and Vaud Widner of Knoxville sisters- in-law, Marie Dunaway of Bristol, Va., Geneva Dunaway of LaFollette, Tenn., Anna Mae Vaughn of Knoxville brothers-in-law, Kaine Prince, Eddie Lee, Donnie Lee, and several wonderful nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, at Weaver's Chapel with the service to follow at 8 p.m., Brother Rick Oakwood officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Weaver's to proceed to Solway Church of God Cemetery for an 11 a.m. graveside service. Pallbearers: Robbie Brown, Bill Hendrix, Charles Whited, Chick Whited, Carl Widner, and V. L. Widner. Weaver Funeral Home, "A Tradition of Service Since 1921", 5815 Western Ave., (865) 588-3868, is in charge of arrangements.
