Rose, Dorothy Lynn "Johnson" age 83 of Knoxville passed away on March 31, 2011. She was a graduate of Young High School and Knoxville Business College. After school she worked in Human Resources at Y-12 in Oak Ridge Tn. She was a 30 + year employee of The William V Ferguson Company, after retirement she enjoyed a 13 year career with H&R Block. She was an active member of Knoxville Table Tennis Club, she participated in the Senior Olympics at the State, Regional and National Levels and won multiple medals in table tennis, 100 meter dash, basketball free throw and horse shoes. After beginning tennis in the "Never Ever" program for seniors, in 1996 she won the womens senior 2.5 doubles championship and was runner-up in the senior novice mixed doubles. She was preceded by her husband John B. Rose Sr. to whom she was married for 35 years; her parents Lindsay and Lena Johnson; her brother Don Johnson; and sister Juanita Pollard. She is survived by her son John B. Rose Jr.; her daughter Patti and husband Clark Hudgins, and son Jack Rose; her granddaughter Abby Hudgins; her brothers Lindsay, Floyd, and Terry Johnson; her sisters Josephine Cannon, Linda Cordell, and Brenda Johnson. Family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home Sunday, April 3, 2011 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Family will meet at Sherwood Memorial Gardens on Monday, April 4 for a graveside service at 1:00 o'clock.
