LICKLITER ,JEAN age 79 of Knoxville, passed away November 29, 2006 at Shannondale after a long battle with heart disease. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and a sweet friend to many people. She was a devoted member of West Lonsdale Baptist Church for over 50 years. She retired from the Kroger Co. in 1977 and from L&M Ornamental Iron Co., Inc. in 1993 the family business she and her husband started in 1954.Jean and Glen married November 29, 1944, 62 years ago. She was Past Worthy Matron of Acacia-May Chapter No. 24, Order of the Eastern Star. She was appointed Grand Organist of the General Grand Chapter of TN in 1981, and she played the piano for every Eastern Star Chapter in East Tennessee that year. Preceded in death by: her husband, Glen A. Lickliter, Sr.; daughter, Sandra Lickliter; parents, Ona Belle and W.A. Rhoads; sister, Mary Stewart;brothers, Paul and William Rhoads, Jr. Survived by: daughter, Janice Coatney Pittman and husband Bill; son, Glen Lickliter, Jr. and wife Julia, all of Knoxville;grandchildren, Jeana Coatney Atkins and husband Kevin, Jonathan Coatney; Joel, Jarrod, and Jenna Lickliter, all of Knoxville; Jenine Edsell and husband Paul, stationed in Hawaii with the Coast Guard;great grandchildren:Kolby, Kiley and Jorja Atkins; sisters: Mattie Mannis and husband Albert, Betty Hawkins and friend Gary Hossle; brother, Harold Rhoads, all of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews.Family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2006 at Highland Memorial on Kingston Pike. Funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Family and friends will assemble at the gravesite in Highland Memorial Cemetery on Saturday for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service, Rev.Bruce Robinson officiating.
