PATTERSON, DERRICK - age 14, of Maryville, died Thursday, November 1, 2001 at Children's Hospital. He attended First Baptist Church of Alcoa. He also attended Eagleton Middle School where he sang in the choir and helped as a peer tutor. He was a Special Needs Volunteer also at the school. Survivors include: mother and step father, Scott & Patty Meadows of Maryville; father, Eric Patterson of Knoxville; sister, Megan Patterson of Maryville; step brothers, Drew and Alec Meadows both of Nashville; grandparents, Albert & Mary Derrick Welch of Maryville, Jerry & Mary Meadows of Rockwood, Leon & Diane Patterson of Maryville; aunts and uncles, Chris & Sherry Whillock, James & Cathy Gibson, LeAnne Patterson, Kevin & Michelle Patterson, Ethan Patterson; great grandparents, Ed & Mary Foland of Rockwood; special cousins, Olivia, Lindsay, Tyler, Rachel and Andy. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2001 at First Baptist Church of Alcoa with Rev. Richard Holden officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to: Derrick Patterson Fund, Home Bank Foothills Branch, 216 Foothills Mall Dr. Maryville, Tenn. 37801.
