Homer Browning , age 67 of Frakes, passed away January 21, 2008 at his home. He was born on December 3, 1940 in Middlesboro, Ky., the son of the late Rev. Charlie Browning and Parasita Partin Browning . Mr. Browning was a member of the New Vine Missionary Baptist Church.
Also preceding him in death were three brothers Roy Browning , Earl Browning and Charles Browning ; step-mother Ethel Browning and step-sister Roxie Maiden.
Survivors include his loving wife of nine years, Jessie Perkins Browning of Frakes; his step-children Darrell Perkins, Doyle Perkins, Mike Perkins, Tim Perkins, Marvin Perkins, Donna Massengill and Elizabeth Mitchell; his sisters Hazel Evans of Chenoa, Ky., Opal (W.M.) Webb of Chenoa, Thelma (Junior) Miracle of Frakes and Trula Bray of Frakes; brothers Clarence Browning of Middlesboro, Donald (Merida) Browning of Middlesboro and John D. (Goldie) Browning of Frakes; his step-sister Hazel (Roger) Beeler of Jefferson City, Tenn.; sister-in-law Patricia Browning of Chenoa; and his special Uncle Joe Browning of Frakes.
Homer is also survived by nine step-grandsons, five step-granddaughters, two step-son-in-laws, two step-daughter-in-laws and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the New Vine Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Mahan and Rev. Wayland Mason presiding. Music will be by the New Vine Choir. Interment will follow in the New Vine Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Creech Funeral Home.
