Mary Belle Mayfield Bible, age 88, of Maryville, lost her battle with cancer January 27, 2004 at her home in the Lanier Community of Blount County. She was a member of Four Mile Missionary Baptist Church. Mary was born August 18, 1915, in McMinn County, the first daughter of Samuel Mayfield and Ethel Wilson Mayfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as brothers, Robert, Herbert, Sammy, William, and Ray; and sister, Dorothy Bivens. She is survived by sisters, Sue Harris of Etowah, Dean Pickens of Athens, and Barbara Davis of Englewood. Mary Belle is also survived by her loving husband of sixty-one years, Harley; and six children. Sons and daughters-in-law include Vearl and Carol Bible of Maryville, Ronnie Bible of Maryville, Lennie and Donna Bible of Louisville, and Ondis and Irene Bible of Lebanon, TN; daughters and sons-in-law are Sandra and Barry Freshour of Knoxville, and Kay and Larry Pender of Alcoa. Mary Belle and Harley have twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. ''Mama MayBelle'' will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved this very special and remarkable woman! The family will receive friends at Smith Mortuary on Thursday, January 29, 2004 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 8 p.m. with Rev. James Wells officiating.
