Mr. Olen Williamson, age 78, of Newport, passed Saturday morning, July 10, at the U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville.
Mr. Williamson was a US Army Veteran, having served during World War II. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Williamson and grandchildren, Crystal Gail White, Samantha Joyce Williamson, and Ronald Eugene Williamson.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Ellen Williamson; daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Randy Thomas and Barbara and Ronnie Webb, and son, Billy Williamson, all of Newport; grandchildren, Lisa Marie Clevenger, Melia Clevenger, James Robert Thomas, Dustin Webb, Phillip Williamson, and Christopher Williamson, all of Newport; great grandchildren, Cody Lee Moore, Robert Shannon Thomas, and Kelsea Sheynne Williamson, all of Newport; sisters, Nola Frazier, of Canton, North Carolina and Margaret Woody, of Newport; brothers, Rufus Williamson, of Alcoa and Burt Williamson, of Gastonia, North Carolina. Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Eva (Pete) Coley, of Gastonia, North Carolina and special nephew, Burl Williamson.
The family and friends will meet at 11:15 a.m. Monday morning, July 12, at Union Cemetery for the 11:30 a.m. Interment service. Rev. Charles Mitchell will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday evening at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home.
Costner-Maloy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
