Tewanna Vanessa 'BooBoo' Dockery was born on June 16 , 1962 in Newport , Tennessee and departed her earthly life on January 13 , 2016 at Newport Medical Center .
She was a 1981 graduate of Cocke County High School and recently retired from the State of Tennessee as a Children's Service Officer at Mountain View Youth Development Center .
She was a member of Allen's Chapel Baptist Church.
She will be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor, and dedication to her family. She was an excellent cook, especially soul food. She was always the life of the party and was known for her quick wit. She had a beautiful smile and was very sociable. She was excellent at her job as an officer and respected by both students and peers.
She was preceded in death by her parents Burn Harris, Sr. and Gladys Carr Dockery ; her brother Burn Harris Dockery , Jr, and her grandparents Paul O.P. and Alta Cuberson Dockery and William Henry and Bervelee Thomas Carr.
She is survived by her grandniece and grandnephews: Carlissa Dockery , Jamarlon Gaston, and TaJaun Dockery , whom she raised as her own, brothers Aaron and Ricky Dockery of Newport and Paul Dockery (Stacey) of Knoxville; sisters E. Marketta and Shedenna Dockery of Newport and Rementna Dockery of Knoxville; her aunts Mary Myers of Pittsburgh, PA, Theresa and Patricia Dockery of Newport , and Charlotte Woods, Alzora Rader and Shirley Davis, all of Knoxville; her uncles Clay, Joseph, Dwayne and Arthur Dockery of Newport , Carl Dockery of Dandridge and Bobby Dockery of Detroit, MI; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends, including Gina Yates, Barbara Allen, Patrick Carr, Geno Haney, and Arlie Haney, her fellow card players and the former and present Mt View staff.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 16 , 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Dockery Funeral Home, 117 E Third South St., Morristown.
The family received friends from 5:00--7:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Interment was in Faubian Cemetery in Parrottsville, TN
Final arrangements are entrusted to Dockery Funeral Home, Inc., of Morristown.
