Lynn Nelson, of Lenoir City passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2009. Lynn was owner of Nelson Tire Service, having been in the tire business for 54 years. He began his career with B. F. Goodrich Company in 1955 as a Territory Manager in South Georgia, North Georgia and Greeneville,TN before opening his own business in 1980. Lynn was a member of First Baptist Church and John Henry McNabb’s Sunday School Class. He was a member of Avery Masonic Lodge #593 F & AM. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lant and Laura Nelson; granddaughter, Amanda Blake Nelson; sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Cliff Melton; brother, Glenn Nelson; brother-in-law, James Hair, Jr.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ashley and Mary Dutton. Lynn is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jo Ann Dutton Nelson; daughters, Teresa Cunnane of Knoxville, Terri Lawson and husband, Lennie of Greeneville, TN; sons, Ricky Nelson, Randall Nelson and wife, Connie, J. Eric Nelson and wife, Jill all of Lenoir City; grandchildren: Erin Davis of Knoxville, Blaine, Abby, Audra Lawson of Greeneville, TN, Tanner Nelson, Emery and Ellie Nelson all of Lenoir City; great grandchildren, Kannon Lawson of Greeneville, TN and Cady Davis of Knoxville; sister, Ruth Hair of Lenoir City along with several nieces, nephews and special friends, Stuart Kitts, Allison and Greg Spears. The family would like to express a special word of thanks to Jefferson City Health and Rehabilitation Center for the care and compassion they have given. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday with Funeral Services to follow at 7 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dick DeMerchant officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home and proceed to the Lakeview Cemetery for graveside services at 10 a.m. Serving as pallbearers: Mike Hickman, Tony Aikens, Gavin Bogus, Steve Cook, Ken Spoon and Johnny Kelley. Honorary pallbearers will be the John Henry McNabb’s Sunday School Class, Wayne Chambers, G. L. Hall, Jim Reynolds, Larry Hall and Mickey Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to "I Love My Church" Building Fund, First Baptist Church, 2085 Simpson Road East, Lenoir City, TN 37772.
