Danny Sparks, 61, of Grassy Fork, went to be with the Lord Friday evening, August 8, 2003, at his residence following a lengthy illness. Mr. Sparks was a member of Grassy Fork Church of Christ and worked at Falcon Industries. He was preceded in death by parents, Talbert and Beatrice (Jenkins) Sparks; one daughter, Lisa Carol Sparks; and two sisters, Merita Jane Sparks and Debrorah Lou Sparks. He is survived by his wife, Helen (Hollis) Sparks, of the home; three children, L.C. and wife, Doris Sparks, of Grassy Fork, Lynn and wife, Beverly Sparks, of Seymour, and Melissa and husband, Danny Cockburn, of Sevierville; six sisters: Joann and husband, Bill Loveday, of Newport, Betty and husband, Bat Loveday, of Chestnut Hill, Hattie Mae and husband, Keith Baxter, of Grassy Fork, Deloris and husband, Darrel Shelton, of Del Rio, Naomi and husband, Jimmy Weeks, of Cosby, Donna and husband, Clifford Owens, of Rutledge; two brothers, Benjamin and wife, Reva Sparks, of Del Rio, and Glen Sparks, of Grassy Fork; four grandchildren, Wesley and Taylor Lynn Sparks and Hanna and Savannah Cockburn; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The family received friends Sunday evening, August 10, 2003, at Brown Funeral Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service was conducted Monday. Mr. Sparks did lie in state one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Sparks Cemetery. Brother Wilson Messer officiated. Brown Funeral Home has been honored to make final arrangements for Mr. Danny Sparks. [S58] Marriage Certificate.
