SCALF, MARY ANN - of South Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 30, 2012. She was a member of South Knoxville Church of God. She worked at Food City. Mary Ann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, and sister. She was preceded in death by her father, Roscoe Ownby, and grandson, Zachary Russell. Mary Ann is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 45 years, Carl Scalf, Sr.; son, Carl Scalf, Jr. and wife, Vicky; daughter, Catherina Russell and husband, Trevis; daughter, Kristi Ogle and husband, Steve; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; mother, Katherine Ownby; sisters, Pamela Kay Ownby; Darlene Jones and husband, Lynn; brothers Jerry Ownby and wife, Grace; Johnny Ownby and wife Robin; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m., Rev. Robert Branch officiating. Family and friends will meet at Highland South Cemetery on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. for interment services. A dove release will conclude the service.
