HICKMAN, JEFFREY TODD - of Knoxville, Tennessee died Wednesday, April 21, at UNC Chapel Hill, following a 14 year battle with leukemia. Todd was 50. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Knoxville. Todd was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a degree in transportation and logistics, and had worked for Pemberton Truck Lines for 19 years. Todd was a picture of strength and grace, even under the most difficult of circumstances. He was quick with a smile, and had a sweet spirit which was contagious to those around him. He had a great sense of humor, and time spent with Todd was sure to be sprinkled with lots of laughter. His life was short in years, but very long in time well spent. His greatest joy was found in being with his wife and girls. Todd lived a life creating memories for the many family and friends he leaves behind. He loved much, and was in turn loved by many. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Todd is survived by his wife of 27 years, Karen Fortner Hickman, his daughters Chloe Elyse and Emma Claire, his parents Wayne and Dot Hickman, his brother Ron Hickman and wife Tina Hickman, sister-in-law Donna F. Tipton and husband David W. Tipton, nieces Kelsea and Blair Hickman, and nephews Taylor, Spenser and Hunter Tipton. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. A special thanks is offered to Thompson Cancer Survival Center for their care of Todd.
