Mrs. Geraldine Hiatt, 76, of South Norwood Circle, High Point, North Carolina, died Thursday, January 1, 2009, at Westwood Health and Rehabilitation, where she had been a patient for the past two weeks.
Mrs. Hiatt was born December 16, 1932, in Hartford, Tenn., a daughter of the late Bill and Mattie Barnes McGaha.
She was a homemaker and a member of Hillard Memorial Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and making clothes alterations for other people.
On February 19, 1956, she was married to Bobby Hiatt, who preceded her in death on December 25, 2002.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Dale Hiatt; seven sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Coltrane and husband, Bill, of Archdale, N.C.; her grandson, Brandon; her sister, Arolla Johnson, of Newport; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, N.C. officiated by the Rev. Harold Shives.
Entombment followed in the Floral Garden Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The family received friends one hour prior to the services and other times in the home of her daughter.
