JL Biddle, 74, of Little River and Socastee, loving husband of 46 years to Betty Long Biddle, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Sept.6, 1934, in Sevierville, a son of the late Reta and Joseph Biddle.
Mr. Biddle was retired from the USAF, serving from December 1951, to March 1973. He enjoyed being an avid fisherman and being on the pier with his many friends. He enjoyed and was a longtime volunteer of ARC.
Mr. Biddle was a loving husband to Betty, and a loving father to Elizabeth, 45 and Brian Dwayne, 44. He is also survived by three brothers, Ed and wife, Ernistene, Roy and wife, Margaret, Kenneth and wife, Carol and one sister, Mary Lee Reed and husband, Gene.
Survivors, in addition to his immediate family, Larry and Joyce Long, Billy Long and Jacki, Shirley Dutton, Tommy Long and Ann, Sharon Edwards, Kathy and Mike Saunders, Nancy Horton and Rich, Ricky and Toni Long and their families and lifelong friend of Sevierville, Tenn., Jimmy Walker (Pinball) and wife, Willie Mae.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Regency Hospice of Garden City, his nurse, Nancy Phillips and all his special caregivers.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at Little River United Methodist Church with Pastor Randy Smith and Pastor Randi Godfrey officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Little River United Methodist Church Life Center, P.O. Box 160, Little River, SC 29566-0160.
