Roger Dale Ramsey, age 49 of Newport went home to join his Lord on Thursday January 19, 2006 at the Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee. For 31 years Roger worked at Bush Brothers Canning where he made many friends and was loved by the many people who knew him. Waiting for Roger to join him in Heaven is his father, Glenn R. Ramsey. Leaving behind to mourn Roger 's passing, but celebrating the life that he lived is his mother, Ollie Mae Toby Ramsey; wife, Linda Soliday Ramsey; brothers, Walter Roy Ramsey and wife, Janice, Larry Ramsey and wife, Marilyn; children, Jonathan Soliday and wife Jennifer, Julia Soliday; grandchildren, Joseph and Kaitlynn Madeano all of Newport. Besides the immediate family Roger will be missed by many other relatives and friends who have come to know and love him. A celebration of Roger 's life will be Sunday January 22, 2006 at Brown Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tois Seay and Rev. Jason Ellison officiating. Interment will follow the service at Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday January 21 at Brown Funeral Home. Brown Funeral Home is honored to have provided the final service for Roger Dale Ramsey.
