HILL, TOM S. age 60, of South Knoxville, died Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Baptist Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Hill was a longtime member of New Prospect Presbyterian Church. He owned and operated Free U Bail Bonding Company and was a member of the PBUS, the Volunteer Street Rod Association and the South Knoxville Lodge #769 F&AM. Veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Vietnam War. Preceded in death by his father, Thomas Howard Hill; brother, John William Hill; and a favorite uncle, Carson Chapin. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Sylvia Harrill Hill of Knoxville; children and their spouses, Kris and Ernie Bowman, Jerry and Kristie Lawson both of Knoxville and Melissa and Ken Hanson of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Dalton, Kennedy, Dillon, Elizabeth, Emily, and Ashley; brothers and sister-in-law, Mike Hill and Jimmy and Lisa Hill; sister, Pat Yateman; mother and step-father, Milford and Ruby Merrell of Knoxville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Hilda Harrill, Troy Harrill, Mary Ann Harrill, Mike and Susan Hayes, and Ronnie and Sandy Goins; step-brother, Jack Armes; step-sister, Kathy Strange; mother-in-law, Sarah Harrill; dear and very special aunt, Inez Chapin, special great nephew, Martin L. Horner; special and very dear cousin, Cathy Chapin Brown; special friend, Anthony Flynn; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and many friends. Masonic Funeral Rites will be given at 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel conducted by the South Knoxville Lodge #769 F&AM. The funeral service will follow with Reverend Kenny Dyer officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel to travel in procession to New Prospect Presbyterian Church Cemetery for a 11:00 a.m. interment service with full military honors given by the Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Prospect Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 4920 Prospect Road, Knoxville, TN 37920.
