COLUMBIA -- A Funeral Mass for Herman "Rick" Richard Comisky , 60, U.S. Air Force (Ret.), of Columbia, will be held 11 a.m. Thursday morning, January 22, 2009, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church with Father Masad officiating. Full military honors and interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Serenity Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Comisky , affectionately known as "Rick," passed away Sunday, January 18, 2009. He was born in Virginia to Joyce Bragg Comisky and the late Herman J. Comisky . He retired from the United States Air Force as a technical sergeant after 20 years of dedicated service to our country which he served during the Vietnam era. After retirement from the United States Air Force, he went to work with the City of Columbia as the Public Safety Facilities superintendent, from which he retired after 20 years of dedicated service to our city.
Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 37 years, Patricia A. Comisky ; a daughter, Kimberly Jones and her husband, James; a son, Richard Comisky and his wife, Susan; his loving mother, Joyce Bragg Comisky ; three grandchildren, Jordan Jones, Emily Comisky and Richard Jacob Comisky ; and his sister, Audrey Comisky and her husband, Alan Sturm; and a host of other loving relatives and friends who will all miss him dearly.
