(October 27, 1914 - April 21, 2010)
Robert Milburn “Buster” Cable, age 95 of Maryville, left this world for his eternal home on Wednesday April 21, 2010. He was born in Cades Cove on October 27, 1914. Buster was the fourth child of Fonze and Lucinda (Sparks) Cable. His family left the Cove when the park took over the land. Buster eventually settled in the Chilhowee View Community. He enjoyed life on the farm. Hereford cattle, wild turkeys, chickens, honey bees, and Plott Hounds were some of the animals that he took pride in raising. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising a garden. Buster always had a story to tell and friends loved to listen. His great sense of hunor led him to pull many pranks on family and friends. He spent many hours at Hills Market visiting with whoever happened to walk through the door. Once you met Buster you never forgot him. Preceded in death by parents, William Fonze Cable and Lucinda Jane Sparks Cable; siblings, William Barney Cable, Minnie Marie Cable, Bonnie Maude “Boomer” Cable, Coza Mae Millsaps, Asa Dale Cable and John Hubert Cable. Left to cherish his memory are nieces, Sarah Lou Payne, Vearl Long, Vonda Riden and Wanda Riden; nephews, Bob Millsaps and Darrell Cable; a large host of great nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special mention great nephews, Jim Millsaps, Tim Millsaps, Bill Cable, Mark Cable, Larry Cable; cousins, Mike Gregory, Ronald Lane, Scott Lane; special friends, Mary Ellen Cable, Max and Janice Hill, Jim and Judy Hill. Special thanks to Margie Lane for all of the times that you took him to appointments, built fires, made coffee, shaved him, fed him, or just stopped in to say hi. Thanks for being a friend to Buster. Special thanks to Jimmy, Missy, Roxanne, Nathan and Abigail Millsaps for cooking every meal for the last 2 and a half years, washing clothes, cleaning, chopping wood, and keeping the fire going and so much more. The family would especially like to thank the nurses and staff on 2 north, Dr. Nils Gaddis and Dr. Constance Hardy for the exceptional care that you gave. May God bless each one of you.
