Dorothy ( Dot) Brookshire Long, age 77 of Lenoir City, passed away Monday morning, April 7, 2008, at her home. Dot was a member of Hickory Valley Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Levi Strauss and later the Craft Department at Walmart. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Charles Long; parents, Walter and Mellie Brookshire; sister, Geneva Lane; brothers: Bill, Frank and Gordon Brookshire. Dot is survived by her sons and spouses, Michael and Pat Long of Maryville, Nathan and Sherry Long of Forest City, NC, David and Kim Long of Knoxville, Bradley and Brenda Long of Lenoir City; daughters and spouses, Trish and Gary Cook of Lenoir City, Jeannie and Alan Headrick of Knoxville; grandchildren: Jason and Katy Rollins, Heather Long, Devin Long, Jordan and Kathleen Headrick, Tasha and Kevin Bradner, Chris and Sarah Long, Kendra Long, Schlylar Long, Sarah Long and Ethan Long; step-grandchildren: Kellie and John Hinkle, Monica and Keith Fuller, Quentin and Sharon Cook, Michael and Pauline Cook, Curtis and Michelle Cook and Jeremy and Rebecca Headrick; great grandchildren: Patrick, Dorothy and Mary Rollins, Jaydon, Kaleena and Kilmer Headrick, Corban and Sadie Long; several step-grandchildren; sisters, Alma Roberts and Sue Huffstetler; brother, Harvey Brookshire; several nieces and nephews along with other family and many friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hickory Valley Baptist Church with funeral services to follow at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Scott Huffstetler, Rev. Tyson McKeehan and Rev. Charlie Carpenter officiating. Family and friends will gather at Click Funeral Home by 9:30 a.m. Thursday and proceed to Unitia Cemetery for graveside services at 10 a.m. Click Funeral Home, 109 Walnut Street, Lenoir City is serving the family of Dot Long.
