Brown, Reba Pearl was born May 13, 1933 in Russell Springs, KY but lived most of her life in Knoxville, TN where she raised her family, watched it grow and enjoyed every minute of it. For the past four years she has survived lung cancer but courageously lost her battle late evening January 12, 2008 at the age of 74. She was at home with her family by her side as she peacefully drifted into God’s hands. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Zilpha Dutton; infant son, Kenneth Lee Brown; sister, Rena Deem Cox; and brothers, Guy and Glen Dutton. Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 60 years, Bill Brown; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Jim Cate of Seymour; daughter and son-in-law, Betsy Brown and Steve Johnson of Knoxville; daughter, Karen Jinks of Knoxville; granddaughter, “Princess” Beverly Cate of Seymour; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Michael and Laura Cate of Seymour; grandson, Richard Jinks of Knoxville; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Philip and Amy Jinks of Knoxville; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Eleanor and Stephen Marshall of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Dagon and Emaleigh Cate of Seymour; AJ and Caleb Jinks of Knoxville; Cameron Marshall of Knoxville; sisters, Ruby Gosser and Radine Groth of Indianapolis, IN; brother-in-law, Jack Riddle of Indianapolis, IN; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Woody and Ruthie Brown of Russell Springs, KY; sisters-in law; Edna Mae Wells of New Albany, IN; Gracie Brown of Russell Springs, KY and a host of other family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Caris Hospice and to Dr. Kevin Ridenhour and his staff. The family and friends will meet at Highland West Cemetery (Sherrill Blvd) at 2:45 for a 3:00 pm Committal Service. Rev. Mike Patty officiating. Pallbearers will be Jim Cate, Steve Johnson, Michael Cate, Richard Jinks, Philip Jinks and Stephen Marshall. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside at Highland West Funeral Home (Sherrill Blvd). Highland West (Sherrill Blvd), 693-9547, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in honor of Mrs. Brown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
