BOATMAN, HAZEL LEE - age 77, of Knoxville, passed away 6:53 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2009 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She attended Reunion Baptist Church where she enjoyed Shirley and her Sunday School Class, and retired from Levi-Strauss and Company (Cherry Street location) after working there for 45 years. Preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Betsy Boatman; two brothers, Robert and Roy Boatman; and four sisters, Helen See, Cleo Hartless, Lizzie Hankins, and Mable Nipper. Survivors: sisters, Mae See, Gladys and husband Glen Wolfenbarger, Sr.; special nieces, Cheryl and husband Danny Powell, Becky Collins; special nephew, Glen (Buddy) Wolfenbarger, Jr. and wife Tanya; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews; and a whole host of friends, neighbors, and relatives. Special thanks to Drs. Shriver, Murff, and Hannah for their care, and special thanks to the 8th floor North nurses station at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Stevens Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Danny Powell and Reverend Glen Wolfenbarger, Jr. officiating. The family and friends will meet at 12:45 p.m. Friday at Bookwalter Cemetery for a graveside service and interment at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Claude Fergerson officiating. Pallbearers: Robert Barnhill, Jr., Raymond Boatman, Billy Marsh, Eugene Marsh, Glen See, Jr., Terry See, and Glen Wolfenbarger, Sr.; great nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway. Mrs. Boatman's guest book is available at www.stevensmortuaryinc.com.
