DUNCAN , CLIFFORD H. - age 78, of Knoxville, passed away Saturday morning at his home on Northshore Dr., with his family in attendance. It was only through the profound efforts of Dr. Chen, Covenant hospice and Rural Metro that made it possible for Dad to be home in the shadow of familiar thing and allowed us to care for him lovingly. Since being stricken with Lou Gehrigs Disease, Dad continued to maintain his sweet sense of humor and alert mind and left us with a wealth of memories. Uncle Walter said he won all of his battles. He particularly enjoyed his times at Gus' Deli and Duncan boat dock. His friends and family will treasure their times with Dad and feel blessed to have had him in our lives. Dad was a decorated World War II Veteran and retired from Roddy Manufacturing Company with 38 years service. He was a longtime member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church and an ever present community figure. He is survived by his bride of 52 years, Mrs. Jennie I. Duncan of the home; daughter and son-in-law, W.F. and Nancy D. Kasior of Clayton, N.C.; son, Michael R. Duncan of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Jerry Duncan of Knoxville; and his only grandchild, William F. Kasior III and wife, Melinda J. Kasior, of Raleigh, N.C.; brothers, Walter and Roy Duncan , who called him daily; several nieces, nephews, and family members who enjoyed Dad. Funeral service 8 p.m., Monday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Rev. Philip W. Nations officiating. Family and friends will meet Tuesday at Highland Memorial Cemetery for an 11 a.m. graveside service. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Monday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.
