MAPLES, FRED D. - 75 of Knoxville, formerly of Jefferson County, passed away Thursday September 8, 2005 at his home. He was a member ob Stoney Point Baptist Church and a US Army veteran. A member of Lodge #462, a Scottish Mason and a retired employee of Knox Plating Works with 29 years of service. Preceded in death by parents, Tom and Artie Lee Carter Maples, grandson, Isaac Roberts, sister, Pauline Collette, brother, Murl Maples. Survived by wife, Christine Maples daughter, who was his caregiver, Judy J. Russell son, Gary R. Johnson and wife, Louise all of Knoxville sisters, Mary Ruth Tolliver and husband, Lloyd, Edna Tolliver of New Market, Alice Lundy of Kodak, Betty Williamson and husband, James of Cosby, Shirley Blair of Strawberry Plains and Myrna Smith and husband, Bruce of Ga. brothers, Joe Thomas Maples and wife, Anne of Jefferson City, Wayne Maples and wife, Beckey of Dandridge 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral service 2 p.m. Sunday Stoney Point Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Troutman, Rev. Charles Rose and Rev. Lawrence Ford officiating. Interment to follow in Asbury Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends Saturday 6-8 p.m. with Masonic service to follow by Lodge #462 F&AM Strawberry Plains Lodge at Fielden Funeral Home New Market.
