HUMAN, DOROTHY MARIE HICKAM - age 80 of Knoxville, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2005 at Brakebill Nursing Home. She was a former employee of Levi Srauss and Fort Sanders Hospital. After retirement from Fort Sanders, she continued on as a Pink Lady until the Alzheimer's disease took its toll. She was a member of the West View United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by: her husband, James R (Shake) Human. Survivors include: her son, Jim and wife Sherry Human daughter, Brenda (Susie) and husband William (Butch) Deford grandchildren, Todd and wife Amy Deford, Jill and husband Joey Cross, Wesley and wife Kathryn Human, and Jessie Human great grandchildren, Kelsie and Cason Cross sisters and brothers-in-law, Gleneva and Carl Summers, and Pat and Bill McCoy brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Betty Payne, Condon and Alice Human, Bill and Dot Statum, and Doyle and Jeanette Human sisters-in-law, Nellie Wright and Pearl Human. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday Dec. 6, 2005 in the hapel of Highland Memorial with Rev. Harry Rehagen officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 pm on Wednesday Dec. 7, 2005 at Highland Memorial Park for the interment. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Brakebill Nursing Home for their care and attention. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association, 2200 Sutherland Avenue, Knoxville, Tennessee 37919. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm on Tuesday Dec. 6, 2005 at Highland Memorial Funerals and Cremations, 588-0567.
