STRANGE, SGT. JUSTIN IAN - born January 1, 1975 - died October 2, 1999 at age 24. Raised in George County, Mississippi, he attended grammar, middle and George County High Schools and finished his last two and a half years at Satsuma High, graduating in 1993. He joined and served four years in The U.S. Army, earning three Army Achievement Medals, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, National Defense Service Ribbon and trained as a Medical Specialist attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. Upon leaving The U.S. Army, he took a job with The Mobile YMCA, joined The Alabama National Guard and attended Bishop State Community College with a GPA of 4.0, earning an Associate Degree in Applied Sciences. He is survived by his mother, Rebecca Meynier and step-father, A.V. Meynier of Lucedale, MS; father, Teddy W. Strange of Grand Bay, AL; brother, Joshua Adam Strange of Lucedale, MS; step-brothers, A.V. Meynier, III of Biloxi, MS and Eddie Struzick of Mobile, AL; step-sister, Gwen Meynier Speth of Biloxi, MS; maternal grandfather, Frank J. Mason of Lucedale, MS; paternal grandparents, Dale and Frances Harris of Saraland, AL and Ted Strange of Del Rio, TN; step-grandmother, Miriam Meynier of Biloxi, MS; great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Gogdill of Del Rio, TN and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was buried at Mulberry Gap Cemetery in Del Rio, TN on October 8, 1999.
