Dorothy Louise (Buckner) Brogan, of Talbott and formerly of Dandridge, TN, born November 4, 1938 in Cocke County, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 27, 2016 at her daughter’s home. Dorothy accepted Christ into her heart at an early age in a little Church of God in Cocke County and later moved her letter to Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church after marrying. She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence “L. C.” Brogan; parents, Mark and Edna Buckner; brothers, Cleatis and Mark Buckner; brothers-in-law, Mike Reed, Wayne Renner, Don Turley, Gary James, and Brownie Holt. Dorothy is survived by sons, Joey (Audry) Brogan of Dandridge and Timothy Brogan of New Market; daughters, Debbie (Raleigh) Holbert of Mt. Holly, NC, and Vicky (Bill) Moore of Talbott, and the loves of her life, her grandchildren; Jamison (Sierra) Robison of Jefferson City, Whitney and Elizabeth Brogan of Dandridge, Angela (Charlie) Collins and Raleigh Holbert, II of Mt. Holly, NC, Andy (Crystal) Wormser of Slidell, LA; great-grandchildren, Nataleigh and Eric Robison; Trenton and Dustin Collins; Peyton, Cainon, and Easton Wormser; brothers, Norman and Dennis Buckner of NC, Charles Buckner of Talbott, and Kenneth Buckner of Newport; sisters, Jenny Holt, Mary Maddron, and Bobbie McCarter of Newport; Linda James and Joyce Renner of White Pine; Melba Turley of New Market, Betty Davis of Morristown, and Nona Reed of Knoxville; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Visitation of friends and family will be Tuesday, May 31, 2015 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Dandridge with the funeral service to follow, officiated by Pastor Ronnie Trent. Internment graveside services will be Wednesday, 11:00AM, at Dandridge Memorial Gardens.
