Carrie L. Sartain, 85, of White Pine, recently residing in Claremont, NC, passed away peacefully at 2 am Sunday, May 1, 2011. Carrie was a member of Ray’s Chapel Baptist Church She was preceded in death by her husband, D.P. Sartain and her parents, Hobert and Sarah Stuart, and six brothers, Richard Stuart, Earl Stuart, Homer Stuart, Stanley Stuart, Robert Stuart and Tom Stuart. She is survived by her children, Marty Zimmer of White Pine, Joyce Swatsell of White Pine, and David Zimmer of Claremont, NC. She is also survived by her brother, Eugene Stuart, sisters, Bernice Garner and Anna B. Nix, all of Newport. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Angela McClain of Nora VA, Velma McManis of Augusta, GA, Chad Zimmer of Lexington, NC, Carrie Hurst of White Pine, and April Floyd of White Pine, and she is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Ray’s Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Glen Ball officiating. Assisting in the service will be Rev. Ron Ball. Graveside service will be held immediately following the funeral. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Manes Funeral Home.
