U.S. Veteran Ralph “Fuzz” Dixon, age 73, of Alcoa, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2006 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a honorable veteran of the Korean War having served in the Army and the Air Force and was a member of VFW Post 5154. He was retired from the City of Alcoa Public Works Department. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Louise Graves Dixon; parents, Henry Clinton and Beadie Ownby Dixon; brother, David Carl Dixon; and sisters, Virgie Ward and Gladys Ward. He is survived by his sons, Clinton Henry Dixon of Alcoa and Robert Eldon Dixon of Turtletown, TN; grandchildren, Johathan Clinton Dixon and Matthew Dixon of Turtletown, TN and Christopher James of Maryville; sister, Lola T. Deck of Alcoa; brother, Wayne H. Dixon of Dayton, TN; special nephew, Robert Steve Deck of Maryville; and several other nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, November 11, 2006 at Miller Funeral Home Cedar Chapel with a procession to Prospect Cemetery for the interment service immediately following the funeral service, Rev. Billy Carrigan officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville. (www.millerfuneralhome.org)
