Catlett, Gordon Ronald –age 66, of Seymour, passed away Monday, October 23, 2006 at his home. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church and retired from the Knoxville City Police Department with 36 years of service. Preceded in death by father, Gordon W. Catlett and brother, Marvin Sayne.
Survivors
Survived by wife, Sue Catlett; daughters, Laura Cates and husband, Matthew of Havelock, North Carolina; Ramona Lee and husband, Al of Seymour, Tennessee; son, Gordon Catlett, Jr. and wife, Alicia of Knoxville; mother, Ruth Sayne; brother, Tony Catlett and wife, Pat; sister, Willa Dean Ballinger and husband, Wayne; grandsons, Houston Cates; David and Jonah Lee; Jeremiah, Jacob and Caleb Catlett, Joshua Duncan; sisters-in-law, Myrna Sayne and Helen Banther; several nieces and nephews.
Service
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Wednesday at Valley Grove Baptist Church with funeral service to follow at 7 PM, Dr. Bobby Tucker officiating. Family and friends will meet at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway, at 1 PM Thursday and proceed to Greenwood Cemetery for a 2 PM graveside services with honors by the Knoxville City Police Department. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Neubert, Kevin Catlett, Wesley Catlett, Arnold Cotter, Virgil Hubbard and Howell Wittenbarger. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Reagan and the Mayford Galyon Sunday School classes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Valley Grove Baptist Church Family Life Center, 9000 Old Sevierville Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920.
