Viola Ramsey Pullum , age 88, passed away July 21, 2006 peacefully at her home after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Pullum and granddaughter Jennifer Carolyn Wilder. She is survived by daughter Carolyn Wilder and husband Jerry of Newport, daughter Charley Ann Pullum of Newport, daughter Charlotte Tweed and husband George of Newport, daughter Helen Hendrix and husband E.B. of Greenville, S.C.,and son Harry Pullum and wife Jane of Knoxville, Tn., and sister Grace Long of Greenville, S.C. She leaves behind eight grandchildren; Charles Pullum of Knoxville, Tn., Connie Pullum of Charlotte, N.C., Jeff Wilder of Newport, Mike Hendrix of Greenville, S.C., Phyllis Tweed Harrison and husband Daryl of Statesboro, Ga., Ronnie Wilder Tenut and husband Jeff of Hendersonville, Tn., Steve Tweed of Newport and Stan Hendrix of Greeneville, S.C. She has six great-grandchildren; Morgan Wilder of Newport, Derek and Brian Harrison of Statesboro, Ga., Jeremy , Jennifer and Savannah Tenut of Hendersonville. Viola leaves behind a very special niece, Jo Frazier of Hartford. The family wishes to thank sitter Betty Freshour for her 3 years of service. The family also wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice and Tammy Francis. Donations in memory of Viola may be made to Smoky Mountain Hospice. Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Sunday July 23, 2006 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ransom Hall officiating . Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday July 24, 2006 in Union Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Sunday July 23, 2006 at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
