He was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and Sunday School teacher. David was retired from Kendall Electric, formerly known as Roden Electric. He was an Army veteran, and a leader of Boy Scouts of America. David was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Hulah Thompson, brother, Charles "Richard" Thompson, nephew, Gene Hill II (Ditto). Survivors: Wife: Margie (Kay) Thompson Daughter: Bethany Curtis and husband David Son: Michael Thompson and wife Leanne Grandchildren: Hunter, Cameron, Ian, Quinn and Lorelei Curtis; Destiny Thompson Sister and brother-in-law: Becky Stinnett Grubbs and husband O.W. Sister-in-law: Sara Thompson Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Thursday with funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. O.W. Grubbs officiating. Interment 11 AM Friday in Shiloh Cemetery with military honors provided by American Legion Post #104. Arrangements by Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
